Poco This pup is pretty nice. I've already got him sitting and staying. I'm not even pushing. He's just picked it up and a natural. 3 months old June 2023. Poco dove hunting at 5 months. This is Hayden's second pup from me. Hayden lives in Texas and prefers my cockers to what is available in Texas. Bill

Hello again from the autumn up on the North Shore of Lake Superior. Daphne, my English cocker from you, is 4 1/2 years old now. And what a great dog she has been. I've raised four pups in the past decade, and this one really is special. A relentless flusher, a great retriever, a close worker, and very gun-friendly; at home she became imprinted on me immediately and settled in with her older sisters (a Brittany spaniel and a golden retriever) comfortably. Now she is all about people pleasing, and pleasing me, and obeying me as the master and pack leader. Plus she is just adorable and beautiful. It was so nice to work with you and to meet your wife and to see so much love in your household all those years ago. This dog is a result of that. Thanks and best wishes.

In 2021 "Hi Bill... wanted to give you a Willie update. He’s had a ton of socialization since all that you guys did as well. Willie and old Lucy are getting on very well. It is actually Willie learning how to approach her that makes it work to the point they are actually play- fighting a couple times a day. Willie is a very confident puppy which is so important. He continues to fetch with boldness. I mowed trails around my old pasture in order to toss the object into taller grass and he’s very persistent in finding and retrieving. I still have some work to do with consistent sit/stay on retrieves before moving into hand signal training. I need to tighten that up yet. Come command has been excellent with Willie in pretty much all circumstances so that’s wonderful. I hope the rest of the gang is settling in nicely. What a great litter that was. I hope you guys are doing well also." As of 2022 "Thanks Bill....We started out decent on pheasants between some remnant wild birds on a couple private pieces and planters on state ground but we haven’t flushed a rooster in 2 weeks now. Not surprising but I’m gonna have to get up to pheasants by the Fox too pretty soon. I do think there are gonna be some mallards around soon. I saw some fresh birds working Paradise marsh on Wednesday when we were pheasant hunting. Willie is no duck dog but if enough mallards show up I’ll get some jump shooting in next week.... He loves that shotgun roar!!!!"

Hi Bill, richest Christmas blessings to you and your family! I wanted to let you know that Gracie continues to excel at home and in the field! She'll be 9 years old next month and still has her incredible passion for hunting! Great energy, great nose, great quartering, super retrieving...I couldn't be more pleased and she continues to impress everyone who hunts with her. What a joy to see her in action! Of course, she also loves cuddling with Laura and I, playing frisbee, chasing balls, going for walks, and running....fast!

I can't help but brag on my little buddy (Gauge), thought you would enjoy these photos as well. This was at a National Bird Dog Circuit Tourney in Mikado, MI where Gauge won Top Gun - Flusher. The action photos are of one of his flushes where I had to call safety because the bird flushed too close to his head. He chased the bird about 80 yards and snatched it out of flight. Our resident photographer caught this and I just think it is cool as hell.

We are excited to share some pictures from our first year with our wonderful Kayla. She is everything we could wish for. She loves the water, pheasant hunting, meeting new people and new experiences. Every day with her brings us joy. As you can see she is a beautiful version of her dad. Thank you for bringing her into our lives!

After 4 1/2 months together, I can say that this English cocker spaniel is a revelation to me. Absolutely great, perfect for what I want and need. She is amenable, tractable, optimistic, playful, social, communicative, affectionate, loyal, and her orange coat is just beautiful. We have worked with fetching stuffed animals, then balls, then dummies…and soon will be on live birds (I’ve got a couple doves in my chicken coop. We’ve learned basic commands and are responding to the whistle. I introduced her to the sound of the .22 while retrieving and she is unphased by it. She has shown a good nose for the dummies I throw into the tall grass and brush. And she started swimming on her own a couple of weeks ago, so we spend a lot of time in the water. Thanks for everything.

Jada is an exceptional pup. She is doing well with potty training and “sit”. She plays well with my sons dog and loves being outside. Today she weighed 13.4 #. Hope all is well with you and your family!

Bill, We started him without him being fully trained. He went to about four trials. In the last in Maine he was probably the top dog after on the first two legs but lost it in the final round. He is a very talented dog and if we can get him comfortable with a few more hand signals I think he can place high. He is fully developed as a field dog and you would be proud to take him out on a guided hunt. There are some quirky things that happen in field trials that experience will sort out for him.

Hi Bill, I wanted to share a few pictures of Hero’s homecoming. He’s such a sweet boy and plays so nicely with my girls who absolutely adore him. He loves playing with toys, chasing and retrieving right away. It took us a couple of misses before we got on his piddle schedule, but by the second time, we were on it and haven’t had a problem since last night. Thanks so much and we’ll be sure to keep in touch!

Tag at 22 months, 27 pounds. He will become the best cocker that I have owned, trained and hunted since 1986. Previously owned 5, all good dogs. Tag in the house is patient, quiet and won't let us out of her site. But outside in the training and hunting areasstate wide, she is nonstop. Tag is a great flusher, tracker and natural retriever of pheasants, grouse and woodcock. Tag lives to hunt and hunt for her owner, companion. a great example of Bill Schaller's line of Cockers. We couldn't be happier with Finn. He has been a healthy, happy go lucky pup and has melted the hearts of a lot of people. He is a big time cuddler and loves to go on long hikes and is always using his big nose. He is closing in on his max size or at least I would think ~30lbs and is well built.

I’m sorry it’s been so long but I wanted you to know that our dog is doing great. She is healthy, happy, and has been camping a couple of times…she loves it. I think she is probably over 17 pounds now. She keeps her nose on the ground sniffing everything, is an ant killer, and has expressed interest in birds. I have been bad with training but she she is a family dog first and the kids absolutely LOVE her. They love it when she rides along with dropping them off at school and it has made a great difference in their attitudes. Who knew that she would make such a difference in a family’s life? I know you did. Many thanks to you and Don for allowing Frostie to find us. Someday, it would be fun to get Frostie and Lilly back together for a visit. Hope you and Don are doing great!!!

Hey Bill, I just wanted to give you an update. On July 25, Christy had our son Sawyer. He is growing like a weed and will be tagging along on hunts before I know it! I can't wait! Yesterday Ellie got her first bird of the year, a nice rooster pheasant. She is such a smart and determined dog! I've hunted over quite a few different dogs and none have hunted as thoroughly as she does. She leaves no piece of cover unchecked no matter how small. I don't know how many times she has surprised me by flushing a bird from somewhere a bird shouldn't be! I hope everything is going well and I'm hoping to take a little road trip sometime to see you guys. Take care, Lee, Christy, Sawyer and Ellie NOTE: Ellie was from 2011 and they got Maggie in 2017. This is a picture of Maggie

Hi Bill, just wanted you to know that our pup’s training is coming along nicely. She retrieves, works close to me in heavy cover and is finding a lot of birds for us. Today at just over 7 months old she flushed 8 woodcock and 5 grouse. I took 6 shots and killed 2 grouse. My best day bird hunting in years. I’ll keep you posted.

Bill, Snoop E. has been an amazing addition to our family. His incredible athleticism is matched by his affectionate personality. While we are not hunters, we live in the woods on a small lake. Snoop E. takes advantage of the regular opportunities to chase deer. This past year, he discovered that there are fish in our lake. His current favorite activity is seeking fish while swimming in the lake. When returning home from one of his many fishing excursions, Snoop E. curls up next to one or both of us - always positioning himself so he has full body contact with one or both of us. We are very fortunate to be able to share our lives with such a wonderful canine companion. Jim and Janet Hoegemeier

Hi Bill. Milly and I ended up shooting 14 birds this season, a mix of grouse and Woodcock. A good season considering the limited time I have between work and coaching basketball. Hoping to get in some rabbit hunting as well. Milly’s second favorite game to hunt is rabbits!

To Bill, My guide in the U.P. is a dog trainer and he said Meemo is one of the best dogs he’s ever seen at her age of 6-7 months. He said she is something special – but he recommended not going too heavy on “training” during her first season in the field. Don’t want to spoil her natural ability and enthusiasm. Just weighed her at the vets. She is only 19 lbs. A real pocket Rocket. Gary Krukar 11/9/2023 Note; Gary writes articles for publication in outdoor magazines. Meemo Is out of Gracie and Finley. She is sister to Frankie who I have available for adoption. Frankie is hunting now with me. Bill

Hi Bill Report on Meemo’s progress. The month of October was all about ruffed grouse and woodcock in WI, MI and MN. Meemo was a bird finding machine. Everyone we hunt with is amazed at her energy, excitements, and joy for hunting. She is also such a sweet companion with everyone that I hunt with – just cuddles up to everyone. We leave for SD, IA, and KS on Sunday and won’t be back till Thanksgiving. She will have to switch gears from forest to field hunting – pheasants, bobwhites, sharptailed grouse, and Hungarian partridge. At only 22lbs, Meemo is a doggie dynamo.
